Located at 37 Bulwer St., the goal of this project was to repurpose and revitalize a desolate lot in downtown Toronto and turn it into a customized residence for a composer with hearing loss: Beethoven.  The concept was to provide a space that encourages the user to interact beyond the ones own comfort zone, as disconnection comes with hearing loss. The "filtered views" (wooden cladding) encourages the user to view the outside without fully exposing the user to the outside. The spaces within the house were also programmed to revolve around the studio in order indicate and translate to the user the activity of the spaces within and around the house.
